2. Is your website useful to your target audience?

Web marketing has become by far the most efficient way of getting new customers.  But let’s face it, no one wants to waste their time reading about what you got to offer.  We are hit by so many advertising and marketing messages each day that we seriously think twice before actively seeking even more advertising on the internet.

Your website must be useful to your target audience.  It must offer something which your target market wants.

For an example, if you have a restaurant, add a few recopies.  If you own a internet marketing agency, the website must have tips on how your customers can save money on internet advertising, or in this case, what to consider before advertising on the net.

So, unless you have a product which people are just dying to get, your website must be useful before anyone will even think about using you over your competitors.  And remember, we are all specialists in our own industries.  If we cannot help those who ask for our help, we shouldn’t be in business in the first place.

So, have a think about it.  Is your website really useful to your target audience? Why would anyone spend any time on your website?  And, why would they return once they’ve been there?  Why would anyone subscribe to your RSS feeds?  And, why would anyone tell their friends about you?
